Technologies

The Research Institute "Kinderkrebs-Zentrum Hamburg" is equipped with a modern laboratory facility, which meets all the requirements of safety levels 1 and 2 for biological, radioactive, and genetic work. The spectrum of our activities includes the functional areas of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and molecular genetics of the human being and the mouse as a valuable model system.
The Research Institute is furnished with a wide range of high-tech equiment:

  • Molecular imager
  • Fluorescene microscope
  • Pipetting robot
  • Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter (FACS)
  • Light Cycler
  • Monochromatic Reader
  • Ultracentrifuge
  • Sequencer

Through our partnerships with the UKE and the HPI additional sophisticated equipment is at our disposal including microarray platforms for expression and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis as well as comparative genomic hybridization, a confocal laser microscope, a fully automated high-throughput fluorescene microscope, liquid chromatography systems (HPLC and FPLC), mass spectromety system, etc.
