Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
Macromolecule built upon nucleotides, which carries genetic information. Every nucleotide consists of a sugar (desoxyribose), a residue of phosphorus and a base (adenine, guanine, thymine or cytosine). In the sequence of the four different bases lies the code for the genetic information.
